In todays video we take VLT out for her first track day! Shes a 1993 foxbody mustang with a turbo LS2. Were seeing peak boost of about 17-18psi with things settling down to around 16. This is a sloppy mechanics inspired special setup with Bosch 210s, magnafuel 4303 and an S480 turbo, nothing special here! The car has adjustable upper and lower control arms with UPR anti roll bar. Its still on C...

In todays video we go to the dyno to test the ls2 foxbody mustang! We were able to squeak out 717 whp through a 4L80E which Im super happy with! IT did 678 whp through the full exhaust! Shes got a lot more left in here with a conservative 14deg timing at 16-17psi but for the moment we are overpowering the chassis. The next step will be to get it to the track and start making passes in mid april!

So many different options out there for the s400 turbo's to get your spool the way you want it. Your turbine options are 75/83- 83/87- 85/93- 88/96 and bigger. Then you have the A/R housings .91-1.25 A/R on the t4 and 1.10-1.15-1.32 and bigger on the t6 side. If you buy a 78/75 you are picking a .96 A/R or 1.25 with a 75/83 turbine that can not be changed. I fell like s400 is a better option then the 78/75, Data has proven back pressure problems at 5,500 rpms and above on the 78/75 with bigger motors so the s400 with a 1.25 T4 or 1.10 T6 A/R housing and 83/87 is a better option for bigger motors revving past 6k.

We run twin 69 billet Bogue Warners with .96 ar turbine housing. 366 in.³ iron block LS spools super fast stick shift street car on 24 pounds runs 8.88 at 165mph. 1 to 1 back pressure at 26 pounds boost. We’ve never turned it up, but believe it should easily run well on 35 pounds of boost. We run Bosch to tens, with a 2000 arrow motive and a 750 magna fuel that comes on at 7 pounds of boost. I think it’s making about 1250 or 1300 to the motor at 24 pounds 3600 pound car.

the 55% E content is about right, there was a study done that looked at anti knock index and research octane number of E50 vs E85. Its nearly identical, 101.6 vs 101.5 (yes e50 was 0.1 RON *higher* than E85) AKI was 95.6 vs 95.8 for E50 vs E85 so theoretically speaking, you should be able to make 100% of the power you make on E85 on E50. The two limitations of E50 vs E85 (in my opinion) are this: one, out of the pump the blend stock for non ethanol is raw gasoline without anti knock additives, its roughly 85 octane, with all of the anti knock coming from ethanol. This is a non optimal situation for high performance boosted vehicles as opposed to having E98 blended down to E85, E70, or E50 with a 93 or better octane fuel. 2nd limitation is for those without an intercooler. Alcohol content in the fuel has very high heat of vaporization (HOV) and acts as a secondary intercooler of sorts. While in blends the HOV increases in a non-linear manner and flattens out above E40 as mentioned above with RON and AKI not changing much in e50+ blends, the less alcohol you have in your fuel mix, ultimately the less amount of temperature change you will be able to affect on the cylinder, in a non-intercooled application. Non intercooler applications, again in my opinion will be far more sensitive to blends of sub-E85 than the forced induction applications that have a proper intercooler, simply because of the higher evaporative cooling requirements needed in absence of a IC.

Hi good video! Im having problems with my system. Havent had the car running for awhile. Made some changes like bigger injector and a adjustable pressure regulator. Then updated the computer to v3 firmware and the firmware update went fine until i got to my 7 inch dash. It just wouldnt work with the v3 firmware. Went back to v2 firmware on the display and its working. Anyway after that my flex fuel sensor quite working all together. It worked just fine until i switched to the v3 firmware it went straight to 0 reading and said high err on my laptop when i had it hooked up and 0 on the 7 inch display. I put the car together like 3 years ago and its been setting for awhile but the flex fuel always worked good until the v3 firmware upgrade. Im pretty sure i dont have the 10 k resister on the input wire or the 5 volt wire conneted. Im not running the same flex sensor as yours either. Im going to give this a shot and see if it does anything. Just wondered if the v3 firmware is whats causing the problem now? Thanks

Everyone on their first build. Usually over think everything like gears. cam, turbo size, and so on while asking Holdener about how much hp will it make, or what's the best rowdy and reliable heads, cam and turbo set up for 800-1000 hp daily driver with a stock bottom end. Lol. I put a 78/75 on my 99' Camaro ls1 6speed few years ago. Bought the car back in 05' and the ls1 pushed almost 500hp n/a with basically just bolt ons heads/cam intake and long tubes. Other then I fragged a half dozen stock 10 bolts over the years while literally beating the living fuck outta her for over 200k while she sucked down NOS like it was vitamins. Hunting fox bodies and imports thru early to mid 2000s. The car was very reliable, rowdy and fun for many years but definitely showed her age so it sat for few years. Decided to restore her and add boost after my friend with a baby carrot dick bought a 2012 ls7 corvette and wanted to race. So it put a fire under my ass. Yeah she now whistles and the Car pulls harder then a one-armed gorilla Jerking off to pornhub. The car also does the greatest brodies and lawn jobs. But now she's a unreliable shit-box. Higher maintenance then my ex-wife. Less than 5k miles in 5 years. Never been to the track or dyno 'ed. Yet I've had to swap in a L33.(wish I just went iron block) stronger t-56 from a 05 'GTO with the triple coned syncro's and the Zo6 2.92 gears.(shoulda just gone auto). a 31 spline 8.8 with 3.73s. Yet my lifted f350 6.0 power stroke weighs over 7k lbs. and does all that with only studded heads and a tune while getting over 20mpg. Thanks to the variable geometry turbos. Modern Diesel's shit n get!

Turbo selection depends on what transmission and use of the car. If it’s a street car with a standard trans go with a smaller turbo if you want response. Auto trans setups spool really depends on the torque converter specs. They need a loose converter to help spool time.

  • @ritchardposterior262

I think i split the difference. I got a completely forged bottom end 370 LQ4 with 80lbjr injectors, BTR stage 2 cam. TFS 225 cnc heads and a really nice valvetrain. Turbo is a True North Turbos S476 76mm compressor, 87/84 turbine on a T4 1.10AR housing. Should be between the 78/75 and the S480 as far as backpressure. also I plumbed in a ProMeth Direct port meth injection kit as supplemental fueling (100% meth) Should be flowing around 156lbhr (26gph) of meth at 100% duty cycle on the solenoid. My quick n dirty math says that turns 91 octane into 99 octane with the added benefit of additional IAT reduction. (Its all downstream from my MAT sensor, so i guess i'll never know how much) Hoping that allows me to tickle 800rwhp. I will probably take it to Josh at Gen3 to clean up the WOT stuff. Truck is about 3800lbs on a 255/35r20 tire, i never drove anything with more then 275 RWHP. But i want to do miles of mayhem lol.
